What is RANRA?
The Rust Advanced Numerical Reasoning Appraisal (RANRA) is designed to assess a candidate’s ability to “understand and apply mathematical information under pressure.” This is a competency needed for various technical jobs – especially executive or senior (management) positions. The RANRA test uses numerical reasoning to test critical thinking skills, unlike other numerical reasoning assessments that are more like applied math tests. This numerical reasoning assessment looks at skills around problem solving and decision-making, deduction and analysis.
There are two sections, Comparison of Quantities which compares data and Sufficient Information which gives specific information that requires a specific answer combination. The test consists of several types of questions, including data processing, reasoning and interpretation. The questions are designed to test a wide range of numeracy skills, from basic math skills to more complex problem-solving skills.
The RANRA test goes beyond measuring simple numerical skills. This renowned instrument then effectively measures the mental capacity to understand complex numerical and quantitative concepts.
Benefits RANRA:
- Helps identify candidates with strong numerical reasoning skills (essential for certain roles!).
- Provides valuable insights into how an individual approaches and solves problems, which can help assess their potential for future growth and development.
- Helps identify areas where additional training or development may be needed.
